How we verify discount codes
Every code on PropScope is checked by hand by the team, several times a day. This page explains exactly what that process involves, what we test, and what we do when something changes.
Manual checks, several times a day
PropScope does not run an automated system that scrapes prop firm checkouts. Codes are checked by the team, by hand, several times a day: we open each firm's checkout, apply the code, and look at what comes back.
It is slower than a scraper, but it is also what catches the things a scraper misses: a code that is still accepted but now applies a smaller percentage, a discount that has been narrowed to certain plans only, or a promotion the firm changed without announcing it.
What we test on each pass
On every round the team verifies three concrete things for each firm:
- That the code is still valid. That the checkout accepts it rather than rejecting it as expired or unknown.
- That the discount percentage has not changed. A code can keep working and apply less than it used to; that is the easiest change to miss.
- That the final price matches. That the amount shown at the firm's checkout is the same one we publish on the site for that plan.
What happens when we find a change
When one of those three checks fails, the correction goes live on the site straight away.
PropScope's prices, codes and percentages are not typed by hand page by page: they live in a central database on the site and are inserted into each page by scripts. In practice that means a change is corrected in one place and propagates consistently to every place that value appears — the firm's review, the plan comparison, the pricing page, the comparison tables and the homepage deals list.
That is a meaningful difference from a site where each price is hand-written. There it is common for one page to get updated while five others keep showing the old price for weeks. That cannot happen here, because they all read from the same source.
Why you will not see "verified X minutes ago"
Some larger aggregators show a counter like that next to every code. We do not, and we would rather explain why.
A counter like that is only honest if there is an automated system behind it testing the code at the real checkout every few minutes. PropScope does not have that system, and showing the counter without it would be inventing a precision that does not exist. What we do have is real human review several times a day, which we consider more reliable than an unsupervised automated counter: a person notices when a discount has been cut in half; a script that only asks "was the code accepted?" still returns green.
So instead of a specific timestamp, firm pages carry a statement of the process and a link to this page. That is what we can stand behind.
If a code does not work
Tell us. It is the fastest way to get it fixed, and reader reports are a real part of the verification process.
Email [email protected] with the firm, the plan you were trying to buy, and what the checkout showed you. We look into that case and, if the code has changed, we update the data on the site.
Even with daily checks, one thing is worth keeping in mind because it is outside our control: prop firms can change prices and promotions at any time, and some offers vary by region or campaign. Always confirm the final amount at checkout before paying.
